Commenting on a reel, her apparent story read, "Zionist settlers getting a taste of their own medicine" after the terrorist attack on October 7.
The X account accused her of "rejoicing" that Jewish people were being "murdered, raped, beheaded, and kidnapped" by Hamas.
Diab's Instagram account has since been made private.
A 2020 post from Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, which Diab attended, said she was raised in Qatar but is Palestinian. The post describes Diab as encouraging and talented.
A representative for Northwell Health, which includes Lenox Hill Hospital, told Insider Diab was fired after her employers became aware of her comments.
"We've been alerted to offensive comments that have been posted by a team member regarding the crisis in the Middle East," said a statement from Northwell sent to Insider. "We are deeply sorry for the hurt and offense this caused. These views don't represent Lenox Hill Hospital & Northwell Health & go against our core values."
Diab told the New York Post Tuesday that she "never called for harm to anyone."
"I never have and never will abdicate my duty and my oath as a physician," she told the Post.
In recent days, others have also been fired from jobs for sharing opinions in support of Hamas — a student at NYU had a job offer rescinded after an email about the conflict. A popular voice actress, Tara Strong, was also fired from a project after she appeared to like multiple Islamophobic and anti-Palestinian posts.
Student groups at Harvard faced intense backlash and some removed signatures from a letter blaming Israel for the Hamas attacks after intense pressure and doxing attempts.
Diab did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
