Alaska Airlines joins Bilt Rewards as a transfer partner.
  • Bilt, the company that awards points when you pay rent, adds Alaska Airlines as a transfer partner.
  • Later this year, Alaska Airlines cardholders can earn 3x on rent if they pay through Bilt's portal.
  • However, Bilt will lose American Airlines as a points transfer partner in June 2024.

Great news, award travelers: As of March 15, 2024, Bilt members can transfer points to Alaska Airlines.

This is exciting news for anyone who travels with this West Coast-centric airline or uses Alaska miles to book flights with the carrier's extensive network of partner carriers.

Noteworthy Alaska Airlines partners include oneworld alliance partners American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Qantas, and Qatar. Alaska miles can also be used to book flights on luxe airlines such as Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, and Starlux, a relatively new Taiwanese airline.

To celebrate the new partnership, Alaska Airlines credit cardholders will be able to earn a whopping 3 miles per dollar later this year by linking that Alaska credit card to Bilt and paying rent through the payment portal, on up to $50,000 a year.

The Bilt Rewards program

Bilt is a fintech company that issues the Bilt Mastercard®, the only credit card that earns rewards on rent payments without transaction fees. In addition to the Bilt Mastercard®, Bilt offers a free membership program that allows people to link other credit cards to earn Bilt points on dining and other expenses, and offers fun trivia games and contests on the first of every month, otherwise known as Bilt Rent Day.

In addition to Alaska Airlines, Bilt partners with American Airlines, Aer Lingus, Air Canada, Avianca, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Air France-KLM, Hawaiian AIrlines, Iberia, IHG, Marriott, Turkish Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, United Airlines and Hyatt.

Unfortunately, Alaska's advent comes hot on the heels of another airline partner's departure from the Bilt Rewards Program. Bilt and American Airlines will part ways in June, three years after their partnership initially began.

Bilt is the only credit card program that allows cardholders to convert points into American miles — and once the partnership ends, the only way to earn AAdvantage miles will be through flying with the airline or holding a co-branded American Airlines credit card.
