The 11 neighborhoods Zillow users are most obsessed with — and how much homes cost in each locale

Upper East Side, New York.
  • The website HouseFresh identified the most popular neighborhoods with Zillow home shoppers.
  • Home shoppers searched and viewed houses in these areas the most on Zillow.
  • Read on for the top 11 locations, which are scattered throughout the South and West.

We've all been there: Scrolling through Zillow for hours while trying to find the "perfect" home — in spite of whether or not our wallets can foot the bill.

Indeed, a 2021 survey from Surety First, a California-based insurance agency, found that more than 55% of Americans spend anywhere between one to four hours each day scrolling on Zillow's website.

So where are these scrollers looking? A new report from HouseFresh, an indoor air quality advisory website, has ranked the neighborhoods that Americans find the most interesting.

HouseFresh collected Zillow sales listings from 100 of the most populous cities in America and identified each home's neighborhood, the number of days it spent on the website and its total page views. The company then calculated the amount of page views per day for each listing and averaged the number of daily views across each neighborhood.

It discovered that Zillow scrollers are mostly interested in neighborhoods scattered throughout the South and West like Northeast Dallas, where the typical home value is $438,340, and Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles, a neighborhood with a median home value of $1,976,858.

What the results tell us is that when it comes to scrolling, affordability is not always top of mind. The majority of neighborhoods that make up HouseFresh's list have median home values that surpass the national average of $334,269, according to Zillow.

Read on to learn about the top 11 most desirable US neighborhoods, including how much homes cost in each area, their populations, and what residents have to say about them, according to data collected from Zillow, Redfin, Niche, and VeryApt.
