From "Dune: Part 2" to "Mean Girls," 2024 has a lot of anticipated movies. Here are 32 films we can't wait to check out this year.

"Mean Girls" (January 12)

The plastics are back... in musical form.

Here, the iconic high school coming-of-age story gets the big-screen treatment again, but this time as an adaptation of the 2018 Broadway musical.

“Argylle” (February 2)

In this spy action comedy from director Matthew Vaughn ("Layer Cake," "Kingsman"), famous novelist Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard) steps out of her introverted lifestyle when she realizes the plots of her books mirror real-life espionage activities.

Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherin O'Hara, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, and Dua Lipa also star.

“Madame Web” (February 14)

Sony's latest Marvel movie stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a New York paramedic who develops psychic abilities and uses them to fight danger with the help of some Spider-Women.

Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, Celeste O'Connor, and Adam Scott also star.

“Bob Marley: One Love” (February 14)

The long-awaited biopic on the life of Bob Marley is finally coming to screens.

Kingsley Ben-Adir plays the legendary musician, with Lashana Lynch playing his wife, Rita Marley.

“Dune: Part 2” (March 1)

The thrilling conclusion of Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of the Frank Herbert novel promises to be epic, with Timothée Chalamet avenging his father's death and Zendaya getting lots more screen time. And also... the sandworms!

"Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" (March 29)

Following the events of 2021's "Ghostbusters: Afterlife," we follow the Spengler family (Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard) as they return to New York City to take ghostbusting to the next level. And they're just in time because something called the "Death Chill" is about to cover the city.

The original Ghostbusters — Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson — also return for the fun.

“Kung Fu Panda 4” (March 29)

Jack Black returns for another adventure as the lovable master fighting panda, Po.

"Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" (April 12)

They are at it again!

Get ready for another epic battle between Godzilla and King Kong.

This time, the two titans will face off against a colossal evil.

"Challengers" (April 26)

After delays due to the actors' strike, "Challengers" is finally heading to theaters in 2024.

This sports dramedy from director Luca Guadagnino ("Call Me by Your Name") stars Zendaya, Josh O'Connor, and Mike Faist as tennis stars in a love triangle.

“The Fall Guy” (May 3)

This reimagining of the hit 1980s TV series stars Ryan Gosling as an over-the-hill stuntman, Colt Seavers, who finds himself working on a movie directed by his ex-girlfriend (Emily Blunt).

But when the movie's future is in question after its star (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) goes missing, Colt volunteers to look for him.

Directed by "Bullet Train" director David Leitch, expect many crazy stunts and laughs.

"IF" (May 17)

This comedy, written and directed by John Krasinski, follows a young girl who can see people's imaginary friends.

Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds star with the likes of Steve Carell, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Maya Rudolph, Vince Vaughn, Sam Rockwell, Jon Stewart, Awkwafina, and Richard Jenkins voicing the imaginary characters.

"Furiosa" (May 24)

This prequel to "Mad Max: Fury Road" stars Anya Taylor-Joy as a young Imperator Furiosa (played by Charlize Theron in "Fury Road") whose world is turned upside down when a biker gang led by Warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth) snatches her up from her home.

"Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" (May 24)

The "Apes" saga continues.

The fourth installment of the most recent "Planet of the Apes" franchise is set generations after the events of the last movie, "War for the Planet of the Apes."

Here, we follow Noa, a young chimpanzee who searches for answers about the past.

"Ballerina" (June 7)

Ana de Armas will play the lead in "Ballerina."

This spin-off from the "John Wick" franchise stars Ana de Armas as Rooney, a ballerina who seeks revenge for the murder of her parents.

The movie is set after the events of "John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum," and yes, Keanu Reeves does appear as John Wick.

"Bad Boys 4" (June 14)

Not much has been revealed yet about the fourth movie, but we know for sure that Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are returning, along with directors Adil & Bilall, who directed the hit third movie, 2020's "Bad Boys for Life."

"Inside Out 2" (June 14)

The emotions are returning.

In the sequel to the hit Pixar movie, we find Riley now as a teenager and going through new emotions from the last time we saw her.

"A Quiet Place: Day One" (June 28)

Lupita Nyong'o will star in "A Quiet Place: Day One."

The third movie in the "Quiet Place" franchise will be another prequel. Though the plot is under wraps, the title indicates it's likely focused on when the aliens make first contact on the planet.

"Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1" (June 28)

This marks the kick-off to Kevin Costner's epic two-part Western that spans the settlement of the American West from pre- to post-Civil War.

Along with directing and cowriting, Costner also stars alongside Jena Malone, Michael Rooker, Thomas Haden Church, and Luke Wilson.

"Despicable Me 4" (July 3)

The hit animated franchise returns for another chapter with Steve Carell again voicing Gru.

"Deadpool 3" (July 26)

Ryan Reynolds is back as the popular Marvel character, bringing along Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. As with any "Deadpool" movie, expect many more surprises.

"Borderlands" (August 9)

After years of delays, this popular video game adaptation is finally upon us.

Cate Blanchett plays Lilith, Kevin Hart is Roland, Jack Black is Claptrap, and Jamie Lee Curtis plays Patricia Tannis.

"Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 2" (August 16)

This is the conclusion to Costner's Western.

"Kraven the Hunter" (August 30)

Sony will introduce us to another Marvel character in 2024. Aaron Taylor-Johnson brings to life Sergei Kravinoff, also known as Kraven the Hunter, a warrior with an ultra-violent means of protecting wildlife.

Ariana DeBose, Russell Crowe, Christopher Abbott, and Alessandro Nivola also star.

"Beetlejuice 2" (September 6)

Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O'Hara return for Tim Burton's sequel to his classic 1988 gothic comedy.

"Joker: Folie à Deux" (October 4)

This is one you cannot miss in 2024.

The much-anticipated sequel to the 2019 hit has Joaquin Phoenix returning to play Joker, with Lady Gaga cast as Harley Quinn. It will also be a musical.

"Venom 3" (November 8)

Our favorite symbiote returns.

Not much is known yet about the third movie in the "Venom" franchise other than Tom Hardy is returning once more to play the lead.

Regardless, we expect a lot of chaos to happen.

"Gladiator 2" (November 22)

Paul Mescal will play the lead in the sequel.

Ridley Scott gives us a sequel to the 2000 best picture Oscar winner.

Paul Mescal plays the lead, with Denzel Washington also starring along with Pedro Pescal. Djimon Hounsou and Connie Nielsen return from the first movie.

"Wicked: Part 1" (November 27)

Cynthia Erivo plays Elphaba.

This big-screen adaptation of the hit Broadway musical stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba Thropp (aka the Wicked Witch of the West) and Ariana Grande as Glinda Upland.

The movie also stars Ethan Slater, Michelle Yeoh, and Jess Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz. The second installment will be released in 2025.

"Mufasa: The Lion King" (December 20)

"Moonlight" director Barry Jenkins explores Mufasa's origins in becoming the jungle king. Like the 2019 "The Lion King" release, this also will be told in live-action and CGI.

"Sonic the Hedgehog 3" (December 20)

Sonic will be racing to your screens in the winter.

Expect laughs and action in the third movie in this entertaining franchise, with Ben Schwartz returning to voice Sonic.

"Nosferatu" (December 25)

Robert Eggers ("The Lighthouse," "The Northman") takes on the iconic gothic vampire tale.

Bill Skarsgård stars as the vampire Count Orlok. Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult, and Willem Dafoe also star.

Untitled Jordan Peele movie (December 25)

Nothing has been revealed about Peele's next movie, not even the cast list. But a Jordan Peele movie released on Christmas Day will be a must-see.
