Bookkeepers and vendors await the final of the ICB LUCA Awards

The ICB LUCA Awards are very much the Oscars of the bookkeeping profession. You can expect the industry glitterati to assemble to the awards ceremony that is held as part of the ICB Bookkeepers Summit on Monday 6 November.

This year’s LUCA Awards finalists include bookkeepers, vendors and service providers of all shapes and sizes. The newest entrants to the market will be recognised as part of the Student of the Year category and new Practice of the Year. Finalists in this category include Acey Bookkeeping, Excelerate Bookkeeping and Business Services and Ladies of Ledger – all innovating practices that have been created in the last 18 months. The Small Practice of the Year category also has a strong showing, with seven practices making the short (long) list.

Larger practices are recognised too in both the Large Practice of the Year category and the Employed bookkeeper/Team of the year. Ami Copeland, CEO of ICB, is excited by the range of bookkeepers represented.

“Of course, it’s great to see established members of ICB recognised – such as Kirsty’s Counting Services, Priority Business Services and Wild Bookkeeping. But I’m really delighted to see so many new businesses and faces being recognised. We wish all our bookkeeper finalists the best of luck”

The LUCA Awards also recognises supporting partners in the bookkeeping industry. A host of software vendors are acknowledged in categories ranging from Data & Expenses app of the Year to Tax & Accounts production and – of course – bookkeeping software. Household names such as Sage, Xero and IRIS compete alongside up and coming vendors including Client Engager, Apron and Swoop.

One of the most hotly contested awards is the Bookkeeping Personality of the Year. ICB Members and students put forwards their nominations as part of the voting process in September. And now, Ian Holloway, Jo Wood, Johan Goree, Kirsty St John and Lara Manton must wait until Monday 6 November to find out who has won the popular vote.

More information about the finalists can be found here and you can read more about the ICB Bookkeepers Summit via the ICB website.
