Meet the Brand: Swoop

Catch up with Sam Tasker-Grindley, Head of the Advisor Channel at Swoop, before meeting him and the team at Accountex Summit Manchester on October 12.

What do you do?

I head the Advisor Channel which gives accountants and advisors easy-to-use time-saving tools to build a funding advisory service.

We make it fast and easy for advisors to find the funding their clients need across debt, equity and grants, get the best deals and become indispensable to clients.

There are three main ways Swoop supports advisors:

  • We empower advisors to access every finance opportunity including loans, equity, grants, commercial mortgages, R&D and savings.
  • We educate advisors on how to strengthen their advisory offering with extensive CPD accredited funding knowledge.
  • Finally we expand your advisory offer by matching your clients with tailored funding, fully supported by skilled funding professionals.

How did you get started?

Swoop started as a direct to business offering and has supported more than 75,000 SMEs in getting access to funding since we launched three years ago.

In that time, we have recognised the opportunity to partner with accounting firms to help them provide additional advisory services and keep up in a rapidly changing industry.

We solve the problem that SMEs bring to their advisors: they have little or no visibility of all the funding solutions available to them across debt, equity or grants. This is a big problem as 68 percent of businesses regularly cite access to finance as one of the main barriers to growth. We believe every advisor should be able to help their client solve this.

Swoop’s AI technology analyses every opportunity available, so SMEs are matched with relevant funding and savings solutions in a matter of seconds. This, partnered with a great accountant increases the chances of a success funding application by up to four times.

What are you looking forward to most about Accountex Summit Manchester

After recently opening a new office in Liverpool, Swoop is more committed than ever to supporting Northern businesses in gaining access to finance. Coming to the heart of the accounting community in the North West, we want to dispel the myth that when it comes to Equity investment, there is a perception that you have to go to London and the South East to find it.

Swoop believes finance should be borderless and that a good business is a good business, no matter where it is situated. As trusted advisors to their clients, accountants should be the go-to people whenever their clients have funding enquiries. Swoop is the perfect partner for Advisors who want to see their clients thrive.

We’re incredibly excited to exhibit at Accountex Manchester for the chance to meet lots of new accountants and catch up with some friendly faces.

Why should visitors come to our stand?

There are a lot of technology tools out there. We want Advisors to see for themselves that Swoop is built by Advisors for Advisors, to get to know the experts behind the platform and know there is always someone to ask for support when they need it.

Whether it be to hear about our grant finder tool, our impressive panel of equity investors or to ask questions about secured and unsecured lending, Swoop’s funding experts are ready to give you what you need to build your funding advisory service.

Questions about funding and finance will be major concerns for business owners over the next 12 months and beyond. We want every Advisor to know where to turn for help.

Visitors to the stand should be ready to be inspired by the passion of the Swoop team to give accounting firms the tools and confidence to deliver services their clients will come to rely on.

Swoop will be exhibiting at Accountex Summit Manchester on the 12 October 2022. Find them on stand D6!
