What a day! GENCFO Academy started with a bang: Ben Lyttelton’s keynote on leadership secrets from football gave us some invaluable takeaways on the definition of talent and developing that talent to get an edge.

Insight after insight was revealed from our experts in the following sessions, from flexibility in ‘hyper-agile accountant’ talk from Asda’s Chloe and Laura to how millennials handle change with Baron, Becky and Jamie.

We heard from Manraj of Starbucks, asking him our pressing questions about finance and his journey, and Bhanu showed us how data is the true enabler of finance business partnering.

Olga took us back to basics with data viz, and Chloe spoke RPA and how Liberty Global has had success with robots and task mining. 

Bitesize Personal Development Energizer Sessions with Claire, Javed and Sharon gave us some career and personal development tips.

Chris was hosting many of these sessions, but led our most popular session of all himself, which introduced everyone to the digital finance function model.

Steve, Baron, David and Nick argent spoke about cash cash cash and how to handle a recession.

Simon showed us how to turn business problems into data questions, and Andi discussed controlling your controllables in finance business partnering.

Emma from Vodafone discussed what different audiences want from data viz and what tools are best to use and affordable for SMEs.

Justin Merritt, Joshua and Mark talked us through data skills before the day ended with Chris and Matthew Bernath giving us a live edition of the FM Modeller Podcast.

Whew! Our audience had a whole lot of valuable insights shared with them – and tomorrow we have even more speakers joining us from big name brands like Air France KLM, Honda and Kindred.
