More Than 240 Arrested, 38 Firearms Siezed in Trump’s DC Crime Crackwown

President Trump announces plan to stop violent crime in Washington, DC – August 11, 2025

The total number of arrests since President Trump federalized the Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Department and sent federal troops and agents onto the streets of our nation’s capital less than one week ago has surpassed 240.

25 more homeless encampments were also removed on Friday. The Gateway Pundit reported that 75 emcampments were already bulldozed by federal officials by Friday afternoon.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, FBI Director Kash Patel said on Thursday that 45 arrests were made, 29 of which were “immigration related” and 16 tied to the violent crime surge.

On Friday, Patel reported 18 additional arrests on Thursday night, including a murderer and a rapist, and eight illegal firearms were siezed along with multiple siezures of illegal drugs.

“We’re now over 120 arrests since President Trump’s initiative began,” Patel said. “The good cops are getting the job done.”

Patel provided another update on Saturday, revealing that on Friday and Saturday morning, another 52 arrests were made, including vehicle theft, drug, and assault on an officer charges.

“More to come,” he said in an ominous warning to law breakers in the capital.

28 of the 52 arrests on Friday were reportedly “defined as migrants.”

Per Fox 5 DC:

A White House official has today revealed that more than 240 arrests have been made in the district since President Donald Trump’s federal takeover began.

What we know: This initiative, which is in compliance with the President’s March Executive Order, saw 52 arrests during Friday night’s operations. In total, 38 firearms have been seized since the initiative began August 7. This is more than double the more than 120 arrests reported by FBI Director Kash Patel just a few days ago.

In addition to the arrests, 25 homeless encampments were removed during Friday’s reporting period. Officials noted that teams reported no negative confrontations and did not make any arrests during the removals.

According to a White House official, 22 multi-agency teams were deployed throughout all seven districts in D.C. to promote public safety and arrest violent offenders. The official stated there were over 1,800 participants in last night’s operations.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump announced on Monday that he is taking federal control over Washington, DC’s Metropolitan Police Department and authorizing the use of National Guard troops to solve the “public safety emergency” in the nation’s capital.

Prior to his announcement in the White House press briefing room, Trump signed two executive actions, including an executive order to invoke powers under section 740 of the DC Home Rule Act and a Presidential memorandum directing the Secretary of Defense to utilize National Guard troops to clean up DC and authorize state governors to send their National Guard troops.

“This is Liberation Day in DC, and we’re going to take our capital back,” he said.

Hundreds of National Guard troops and federal agents are being positioned throughout the capital to patrol the streets and arrest criminals and illegal aliens.
