- MrBeast has shared his first video on X.
- The content creator said he was testing the platform's plan to share ad revenue.
- MrBeast previously said it wasn't worth posting the videos on X as they were so expensive to make.
YouTube sensation MrBeast may be planning to spend more time on Elon Musk's X.
The YouTuber, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, shared his first video direct to the social-media platform on Monday. In the post, he said he was testing Musk's ad-revenue-sharing system.
"I'm curious how much ad revenue a video on X would make so I'm reuploading this to test it. Will share ad rev next week," he said alongside a 16-minute video.
Musk and Donaldson have a longstanding friendship and are known to engage with one another on social media.
Musk previously encouraged MrBeast to upload his videos to X, but the suggestion was met with a cutting response from the content creator.
MrBeast replied to Musk's encouragement, saying it wasn't worth sharing the videos on his platform because they cost millions to make.
"Even if they got a billion views on X it wouldn't fund a fraction of it. I'm down though to test stuff once monetization is really cranking!" he said in a post.
X's ad-revenue-sharing scheme was one of several changes brought in by Musk last year. Launched in July, the payments give creators a share of the revenue from ads in replies to their posts since February.
At the time, Musk said the first set of payments to creators totaled $5 million, with some users reporting large payouts.
X CEO Linda Yaccarino has also encouraged content creators to migrate to the platform.
Last week, Yaccarino touted new X shows featuring former CNN host Don Lemon, Tulsi Gabbard, and Jim Rome.
