MSNBC Analyst’s Snarky Take on Trump Deploying National Guard to DC to Fight Crime Backfires When One of Her Old Tweets Emerges

Liberal reporters have been fuming over President Trump deploying the National Guard to DC last month to fight crime. Now, it turns out one so-called journalist was a critic of what was happening in DC until her Trump Derangement Syndrome kicked in.

Ashley Parker, an MSNBC analyst and staff writer for The Atlantic, posted a mocking take last week on what she viewed as the National Guard’s unnecessary presence in DC. Specifically, she characterized their tasks as “absurdist” while invoking the HBO show Veep.

“The sudden appearance of the National Guard in D.C. brings w/ it an absurdist sheen—their tasks quotidian (“beautification”), their backdrops farcical (a Dupont Circle Krispy Kreme), their very presence sitcom-esque (as if lifted from an episode of Veep),” Parker snarked.

But a few months ago, Parker sang a very different tune. Conservatives uncovered an old tweet in which Parker lamented the crime in her DC neighborhood.

“After another bike was stolen last night, my husband and I realized our life as DC homeowners by the numbers includes one stolen car, two stolen scooters/Vespas, three stolen bikes, a partridge in a pear tree, etc.,” she wrote.

Here’s the tweet without the screenshot:

Upon seeing Parker’s post, Parker got brutally roasted by conservative X users.
