President Trump Reveals Iran Has Asked for a CEASEFIRE But This One Condition Must be Met Before He Considers It

The weeks-long war in Iran may be nearing its end, provided the Islamist dictatorship bends the knee on a highly critical condition.

On Wednesday, President Trump took to Truth Social to deliver some promising news: Iran’s new ‘president’ has just asked America for a ceasefire to end the fighting. Trump said he’s considering the proposal but has one condition: that Iran reopen the Hormuz Strait, which the nation closed last month.

Otherwise, the bombing will continue.

The announcement comes just hours before Trump is scheduled to address the country on the war.

“Iran’s New Regime President, much less Radicalized and far more intelligent than his predecessors, has just asked the United States of America for a CEASEFIRE!” Trump announced on Truth Social.

“We will consider when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear. Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion or, as they say, back to the Stone Ages!!!” he added.

The Hormuz Strait is considered to be one of the world’s most critical oil chokepoints, connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, it accounts for more than 35% of all seaborne oil trade, largely destined for Asia.

Trump has also provided more reason to believe the bombing campaign will wind down soon during a phone interview with the New York Post on Tuesday.

We’re not going to be there too much longer. We’re obliterating the sh*t out of them right now,” Trump said.

“We won’t have to be there much longer — but we have more work to do in terms of killing their offensive, whatever offensive capability they have left.”

An end to the war will certainly be a welcome relief, especially given that Americans are paying $4 per gallon for gasoline.

High gas prices have a particularly profound impact on working-class people, who make up the majority of Trump’s base.

Getting out of Iran would also likely boost Trump’s poll numbers, which have been in a freefall since the war began.
