Equity Union Real Estate has expanded into California’s Central Coast by adding Team Sweasey, a San Luis Obispo-based real estate team led by Hal Sweasey.
Team Sweasey will continue to operate from San Luis Obispo, which will serve as Equity Union’s 13th branch location statewide.
Sweasey has more than three decades of experience in the local real estate market — with his team completing more than 3,100 home sales during that time.
In 2024, RealTrends Verified ranked Team Sweasey first in San Luis Obispo County by both transaction sides and sales volume, reporting more than $141 million in closed sales.
“We’re thrilled to grow with a company as forward-thinking and supportive as Equity Union,” said Sweasey. “This partnership gives our team even more tools, technology, and resources to continue serving our clients at the highest level. I’ve never been this excited to align with such an amazing group of people as I’ve found with Equity Union.”
Team Sweasey’s staff includes Sharon Benedik, listing manager; Dakota Bailey, escrow manager; Christina Peay, customer service director; James Bueno, marketing director; Graeme Baldwin, broker associate; Stacie Kenny, Jordan Knauer and Jeff Thompson, Realtor associates; and John Turner, sales and leadership consultant.
Equity Union said the Central Coast expansion follows several years of growth for the brokerage.
In 2024, the company reported $3.11 billion in sales volume across 3,639 closed transactions, with more than 950 licensed agents operating from 13 offices.
The Central Coast — including San Luis Obispo County — is considered one of California’s more stable housing markets and includes a mix of residential, coastal and inland properties, leaders said.
“Team Sweasey sets the standard for excellence. Their integrity, leadership, knowledge and expertise perfectly align with Equity Union’s vision,” said Harma Hartouni, CEO of Equity Union. “Together, we are creating extraordinary opportunities for our agents and unmatched service for clients across the Central Coast.”
Equity Union said the San Luis Obispo office will serve as a base for future expansion along the Central Coast.
