MISMO names FinLocker exec Brian Vieaux as president

MISMO, the real estate finance industry’s standards organization and a subsidiary of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), on Tuesday named Brian Vieaux, CMB, as its new president, effective Oct. 16, 2025.

“Brian is an accomplished industry executive and influential leader with deep relationships, vast technological knowledge, and an innate ability to inspire and bring people together,” said MBA President and CEO Bob Broeksmit, CMB. “I am confident his passion for the industry and fresh ideas will drive innovation, increase stakeholder participation, and continue to advance MISMO industry standards that benefit consumers, lenders, and servicers.”

Since 2019, Vieaux has held the roles of president and COO at FinLocker and brings more than 30 years of industry experience as a mortgage executive, including senior lending roles at Flagstar Bank, Towne Mortgage Company, IndyMac Bank, CitiMortgage and Source One Mortgage Corp.

FinLocker shared the news in a LinkedIn post, writing, “Under his leadership, FinLocker has transformed into a trusted platform that helps loan officers engage ‘up funnel’ and empowers consumers on their path to homeownership. Brian leaves his fingerprints all over our company, and we’re proud of the lasting impact he’s had.”

FinLocker’s post also noted Chris Hazen has been promoted to Chief Revenue Officer and that Ethan Vieaux has been promoted to Vice President, Customer Success.

Vieaux confirmed to HousingWire that his last day at FinLocker will be Oct. 15.

“I am incredibly proud of the team at FinLocker and the work we’ve done to bring the industry an innovative approach to educating, preparing, and engaging early-journey first-time homebuyers. That mission will always remain close to me,” Vieaux said to HousingWire.

He continued, “I am honored to join the MISMO team and continue the great work it does for the industry at large. For a lot of reasons, and particularly in today’s mortgage finance landscape, the work of MISMO has never been more critical.”

Vieaux earned his Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation in 2005 and previously served as co-chair of MBA’s Wholesale Executive Forum and as a member of MBA’s Residential Board of Governors. Vieaux holds a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University.

He currently serves as a board member of the Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association, Axis Lending Academy and Downtown Boxing Gym. Aside from his leadership roles, Vieaux brings to MISMO a strong following as an author, a podcast host and a voice across social media.
