Rene Galicia joins executive team at North Texas-based MLS

After just five months at the Council of MLSs (CMLS), Rene Galicia is on the move again. In an announcement on Thursday, the North Texas Real Estate Information Services (NTREIS) said it has named Galicia its new executive vice president and general counsel. 

In this newly created role, he will oversee strategic operations and serve as NTREIS’s principal legal advisor. Galicia will start his new role on Monday. 

“I am honored to join NTREIS at such a pivotal moment for the MLS industry,” Galicia said in a statement. “As a trusted partner for the North Texas and Northwest Louisiana real estate community, NTREIS has built a strong foundation, and I look forward to collaborating with Chris [Carrillo], the executive team and the Board of Directors.”

Galicia has over two decades of experience in the real estate industry, including 15 years working in MLS leadership roles. He most recently served as the chief operating officer at CMLS. Prior to this, he served as the executive vice president of policy counsel and strategic partnerships at Bright MLS, director of MLS engagement at the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and has spent several years in various leadership roles at California Regional MLS (CRMLS), the nation’s largest MLS.
