There are more factors involved. I have been running an EDU base M4 Mac Mini that I paid $499 for. The 16GB of Ram is killing me. Apple is offering $565 in trade making the M5 Pro with EDU $1039 + tax. You can’t buy a 24GB or a upgraded SSD on a M6 in store, they are BTO only. You have to buy it and wait. So for some of us, the M5 Pro makes far more sense.

No way I will buy the M6 Mac mini, it is way too expensive, I’m staying with my M4 mini. Plus, Apple removed all ways for users to upgrade the mini

On the refurb stores the m4 mac minis are very poorly priced, at least in Australia. Actually, the refurb store is generally very poorly priced. I guess someone must be buying stuff there, but I don’t get why. If I could avoid refurg, I could spring the extra for new and newest model. There’s little incentive to go to the refurb store.

I think the consumer market will go into hibernation for a while. No reasonable person will buy a computer at these prices. Well keep our old stuff come up with innovative ways to reuse our old hardware. That may be a good thing.

Is the Studio allowing for 3rd party SSDs? I see the mini has shut that down.
