Palantir shares have fallen 35% since Michael Burry’s billion-dollar bet against it — and a new post suggests he’s not covering anytime soon.
The infamous hedge fund manager and Substacker just released a 10,000-word report diving deep into the company’s losses prior to its 2020 IPO.
Burry’s core argument? The market is valuing Palantir like a high-margin software business… when he thinks it’s actually closer to a consulting firm. He says Palantir’s Foundry and AIP products aren’t plug-and-play — they require significant human intervention to function properly.
He also noted the stock’s sky-high valuation depends on hyperscalers continuing to pour money into capex — but if the ROI isn’t there, eventually that spending slows.
And on top of all that, Burry flagged an ominous technical pattern: the head and shoulders — suggesting the stock could fall as low as $55, which would be a 75% decline from all-time highs.
With shares continuing the slump this week, Stocktwits sentiment has pushed down into neutral territory as the bulls vs bears debate rages on.
