3 Minutes with Dayle Rodriguez

Get to know Dayle Rodriguez, who joined the Kreston Reeves team in 2021 with a passion to enhance an industry-leading service.

Working across multiple sectors and with start-up businesses (and starting a few of his own) has given Dayle a very eclectic skill set. Dayle utilises his experience to support clients to effectively source and implement systems that go beyond the traditional financial & accounting function.

How did you get into your profession?

I have always been a geek, I then discovered I am a geek who can speak plain English. I have been coding and translating to plain English ever since then.

What do you love most about what you do? 

I like to respectfully challenge the status quo. Asking businesses owners and their staff “why” and really getting to the route of their desired outcome and finding the underlying issues. I love it when a good tech implementation saves times, increases profit or makes someone’s day to day marginally better, even if it’s a 1% improvement I consider it a win.

What’s your biggest achievement?

I have a 3-year-old daughter, Rodriguez 3.0. This lil punk will rule the world one day! If we are talking careerwise, I was invited to be a Judge for the ICB LUCA Awards, it is a huge honour.

What is the one thing accountants and finance professionals must do to adapt and remain successful?  

They must redefine the narrative of what an accountant is, what they do and the value they bring.
