In recognition of the exceptional purpose-driven leaders in the field, the prestigious Women in Accounting Awards returns in 2023, to recognize and celebrate 50 inspiring changemakers in the accounting and bookkeeping industry.
The global awards acknowledges trailblazing women who are at the forefront of change, driving innovation, and opening doors for the next generation of female accountants and bookkeepers. By nominating a leader or emerging leader from your current company, a former colleague, yourself or a peer, to be recognized as a Top 50 Women In Accounting, you play a vital role in promoting real change.
Selecting the extraordinary changemakers in our midst
Women in Accounting is a global community comprising more than 1,500 women who are committed to empowering and elevating female voices, and driving meaningful and transformative change. Every year, the community calls for nominations for the Women in Accounting Awards. The awards are open to all women in public accounting, private industry, government, bookkeeping and technology.
A judging panel of industry experts and past award recipients select the Top 50 Women in Accounting based on their leadership, impact, and influence in the accounting industry.

Leaders with remarkable stories and experiences to share
Now in its sixth year, the Women in Accounting Awards have gained incredible momentum over the years, becoming a highly anticipated event on the accounting industry calendar.
The annual event has attracted over 1,500 nominations from around the world and recognized 250 women from countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, United States, and the United Kingdom.
“If the stories of the Top 50 Women in Accounting from previous years left me speechless, I can only imagine what will happen when I dive into the stories of applicants from all over the world,” says Charlene Rhinehart, Founder of Wealthy Women Daily and one of this year’s judges.
“I think it’s amazing that Ignition is holding space for recognition – an idea that was unheard of a century ago. The stories and experiences of women in accounting matter,” she says.
Sparking lasting confidence and fostering a sense of community
At the heart of the Women in Accounting initiative lies a powerful vision for a more diverse and inclusive industry in which women stand tall at all levels of leadership. The goal is to create and nurture a global community of female accountants, empowering them to contribute their unique voices, experiences, and perspectives.
In 2023, the focus of the awards is on sparking lasting confidence in women leaders and fostering a sense of community. To drive meaningful and transformative change around this theme the judging panel of industry experts and Top 50 alumni will share the stories of incredible women accountants and bookkeepers, and hold space for important discussions about gender, leadership, and confidence.
“A lack of confidence can inhibit some women in the industry from reaching their full potential”, says Guy Pearson, one of the twelve judges for the 2023 awards. “We hope that by recognizing their achievements, we can ignite real change in confidence and help more women back their own abilities and skills and seek out stretch opportunities,” he says.
