- SpaceX has put up a badge featuring a goat at its Starbase spaceport.
- The logo is very similar to that of an amateur soccer team in Scotland.
- Haddington Town AFC proceeded to joke about Elon Musk joining the team, and invited to him to buy the club.
An amateur soccer team has been joking about Elon Musk joining the club after SpaceX appeared to reuse its logo.
SpaceX shared a photo on Wednesday of employees at the Starbase spaceport in Boca Chica, Texas — and an illustration of a goat is visible on the tower in the background.
As more pictures of the badge emerged, it caught the attention of Haddington Town AFC.
Why has @elonmusk stole our badge😂😂😂 give it back! https://t.co/IiytQ4fjXl

Both logos have the same white outline of a goat in a circle on a dark background, although SpaceX's omits the soccer club's name in favor of the company's logo.
Haddington, a town about 15 miles from Edinburgh with a population of 10,000, uses the goat as a symbol. As well as the soccer club, it appears on the local high school's badge, on statues in the town, and even engraved on lamp posts.
For SpaceX, it's likely to be a reference to the acronym "greatest of all time."
But Haddington Town AFC saw the funny side of things, joking on X about Musk joining the club.
I guess the cat is out of the back!

"If he wants to come to Scotland and be part of a football team we'll be his Wrexham," said Ryan Leishman, a club representative, per The Times of London. Wrexham AFC played in England's lower leagues before being bought by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2020.
Leishman also joked with BBC Scotland about the world's richest person playing for them as a striker. "We'll put him up front. He's a big laddie — 240 pounds and six-foot plus," he said.
The club also said on X that it wasn't interested in taking legal action.
SpaceX did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
