Accountex Summit Manchester 2023: A Record-Breaking Success

Accountex Summit Manchester welcomed the accounting and finance community to Manchester Central on the 19 September. Year on year the event has grown, with 2781 attendees from across the country, a 35% increase from 2022.  

Portfolio Director, Caroline Hobden commented “We were absolutely delighted to welcome even more visitors this year! The show had such a vibrant atmosphere, yet felt intimate and personal. It was a resounding triumph, and a testament to the thriving profession in the north.”

Over 100 leading software and service suppliers, startups, and industry bodies filled the floor of Manchester Central, including the ACCA, AAT, ICAEW, Bright, Dext, FreeAgent, Intuit Quickbooks, IRIS, Sage, Wolters Kluwer and Xero.  

Visitors had the opportunity to meet the teams behind the brands, receive personalised demonstrations, explore new solutions, and gain practical advice.

The CPD accredited seminar programme consisted of 32 sessions across 4 theatres, led by thought-leaders shaping the profession.  

As well as getting updates on the current tech trends and legislations, the programme delved into emerging industry topics, such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, anti-money laundering compliance, exit planning, mergers and acquisitions, the recruitment crisis and more.

Among the new features at this year’s show, visitors could take some time out to enjoy the new Podcast Pitstop. The Ask the Accountants Podcast team Johann Goree and Aaron Patrick, were there interviewing experts and leaders throughout the day.  

After the success at Accountex London, another new addition this year was The Content Creation Clinic. Visitors learnt how to create effective content for social media and build an engaged audience with Rachel Harris, Founder of accountant_she and Director, striveX Accountants.  

The popular After Show Party was a huge hit this year, providing accountants, bookkeepers and finance professionals with an opportunity to network and unwind after a busy day, accompanied by a live two-piece band.  

At Accountex London, the show launched a new commitment to sustainability, which was reflected at the Manchester show this year. The event partnered with Carma to plant a tree on behalf of each visitor to the show, in collaboration with the Eden Reforestation Projects. This initiative aims to mitigate the event’s carbon footprint while supporting communities across the world.
